FlexAlert Privacy Policy
Helping Amazon Flex drivers never miss important notifications
1. Who we are
FlexAlert (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is operated by Mikrotech. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the FlexAlert mobile application.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use FlexAlert, we may collect the following:
- Account information: phone number (for sign-in via SMS verification), name, and user ID.
- App settings: notification keywords, schedule preferences, listener on/off status, and optional contact details you provide for alerts (such as email or phone number for backup notifications).
- Notification data: when the notification listener is enabled and you are signed in, the app may read notification title and text from supported applications on your device (primarily Amazon-related apps) to check keyword matches and trigger alarms or backup alerts.
- Event logs: records of detected notifications (including message content, app package name, whether an alarm was triggered, date/time, and device model) stored in our cloud database for app functionality and statistics.
- Usage data: last app access date, access count, and app version checks.
- Device information: device manufacturer and model (e.g. for troubleshooting).
- Payment information: if you subscribe or make a donation, payment is processed by Google Play, RevenueCat, and/or Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
3. How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Detect Amazon Flex–related notifications and trigger alarms based on your keywords and schedule
- Send optional email or SMS backup alerts you configure in Settings
- Sync your settings across sessions via cloud storage
- Enforce minimum app version requirements
- Process subscriptions and optional donations
- Improve reliability, security, and support
4. Permissions we request
FlexAlert may request the following Android permissions:
- Notification Access — to read notifications from supported apps when the listener is enabled
- Internet — to sync settings, authenticate, and log events
- Notifications, vibration, audio & alarms — to play alerts and show system notifications
- Foreground service — to monitor notifications reliably in the background
- Billing — for in-app subscriptions (when enabled)
You can revoke Notification Access at any time in your device’s system settings. The listener also stops when you sign out of the app.
5. Third-party services
We use trusted third-party providers, including:
- Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database (Firestore), and related infrastructure
- Google Play / RevenueCat — subscription management
- Stripe — optional donations
- Cloud Functions — sending optional email/SMS backup notifications
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing:
6. Data storage and retention
Your account and settings are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore). Notification event logs are stored in secure cloud databases associated with your account. We retain data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only:
- With service providers listed above, solely to operate the app
- When required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety
- With your consent
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Enable or disable the notification listener in the app
- Update your keywords, schedule, and optional alert contacts in Settings
- Revoke Notification Access in Android system settings
- Sign out, which disables background notification monitoring
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us
If you are in the UK or EEA, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR), such as the right to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. Children’s privacy
FlexAlert is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including secure authentication and encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. International transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country, including in the United States, where our cloud providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of FlexAlert after changes means you accept the updated policy.
